Topper names and colours explained

As our brand is called Her Hair My Head, we felt it was only right to give our pieces different women's names. The name of the piece refers to the colour rather than the base type. For example, Victoria is a rooted cool-toned ashy blonde – so you will see the option to buy a Victoria Super Flat topper, Mini topper or Luxury wig.

In each listing, you will see photographs of the topper being worn by Georgina in both natural daylight and artificial indoor lighting. We also take photographs of the topper on a mannequin head to show it from different angles and we make a video to further showcase the colour.

COLOUR DISCLAIMER

We do our best to showcase the true colour of our pieces, but colours will vary on different computer monitors/tablets/smartphone screens and in differing lighting conditions. Each of our pieces are dyed by hand and so we cannot guarantee an identical colour match from piece to piece. 

CAN I DYE MY TOPPER?

We have rigorously tested our own brand of Super Flat toppers, Mini toppers and Luxury wigs to see how they respond to a variety of colour services – both bleach/lifting, tints and toners.

We recommend washing the piece with a clarifying shampoo before undertaking any colour work. 

Our blonde-based pieces can be tinted to darker shades and toned to various shades of blonde: e.g. gold tones, copper/red tones etc. However, toning to achieve cooler or ash blonde tones is not advisable, as our testing has revealed a propensity for the hair to pull/hold green tones when using ash.

We strongly advise NOT to bleach/lift our blonde pieces as they have already been lightly processed and it will compromise the quality of the hair.

Our brunette-based pieces can be tinted to darker shades and can be lifted 2-3 levels maximum to create highlighted and balayage effects, followed by toning services.

Please note: alternative hair tends to yield darker results than bio hair, so always opt for 1-2 shades lighter when using tints.

When bleaching/lifting do not use higher than 20 vol developer and always use a bond reinforcing agent.

We advise you to always take your alternative hair to a colour specialist who has experience with colouring alternative hair pieces.
